It’s like in heaven. Ideal conditions. Liquid Loft at the source of eternal life. Paradise, a temporary biotope, growing and thriving in different places. A garden where humans and various organic derivatives grow alongside the promise of eternal beauty. Outside, shielded by hedges, is nature’s brutality with its festering mortality, kept out of sight so the view’s not distracted from the radiant
future. Wellness! Humans, animals and fruits caressing and devouring each other. All proliferates, eats each other and, happily smacking, steers towards its own perishableness. Life is disco and radiates on the inside and the outside. In their new performance series ThePerfectGarden Liquid Loft experiment with the growing co-existence of organic and inorganic bodies and objects. In collaboration with visual artist Michel Blazy gardens are created at different places for a predetermined period of time, always dependent on local conditions. Layer by layer choreography will be applied, with occasional interventions, but also holding the freedom for the constituents to follow their own motions. The specially created sound environment is a fundamental part of Liquid Lofts work. The whole physical sound field of the performers underlies perpetual change and transformation. This experimenting with acoustic settings has constantly been accompanying every stage-performance from its inception, and in this way may reflect any given effects of dance.
WELLNESS is a performance developed specifically for the Palmenhaus in Vienna's Burggarten and is the first station of this performance series.
