Mourningbox 01 - Laure Dever

Laure Dever started creating a series of full-scale boxes in 2009. In every box she makes a (personal) statement or protest about a social theme. A woman carries the weigth of the world on het fragile shoulders. She’s caught in a perpetual death scene.

Mourningbox is about remorse, mourning and penitence. It's a perpetual dying scene which develops into a twenty minute movement solo against a background of projected drawings and animations Laure Dever created herself. The NWE Vorst, Wpzimmer and Productiehuis Brabant supported her in creating this first box.
