LaLa#3: Cocomotel 01

In 2004 Laure Dever and Laura Vanborm pleasantly surprised us with LaLa#2: Caroline & Rosie, a fresh, young and sensual dance performance. What started as a one-off presentation of a graduation project turned into a modest international tour. To top it all, this piece won them the TAZ-KBC Prize for Young Theatre Work (Theater Aan Zee 2005).

In Lala#3: Cocomotel, they take a further step in their joint progress, coached by the actress and theatre-maker Lies Pauwels and collaborating with the video film-maker Michiel De Jaeger.

This new piece promises to be a highly visual show, and in fact photography plays a very important part in the creative process. These two dancers continue to probe the boundaries of what excites them: making performances that are fragile, powerful, humorous and ironic at the same time, in their own dance idiom free of great words and cliches.
