Montre Moi ta Pina

"Montre moi ta Pina" was commissioned by the Théâtre de Vanves, Paris.

Together with thirty other artists, Ellen Rijk was invited to participate in the project 'Pina vue par ... [Montre moi ta Pina]’ This project premiered during the opening of the French Festival Ardanthé 2010.
It is a tribute to the German choreographer Pina Bausch.

When Ellen Rijk saw the work of Pina Bausch for the first time, she was thrilled and overwhelmed at the same time. What she admires in Bausch's work is the exuberant vitality that goes hand in hand with a permeated melancholy, the severe physical discharges and the purely poetic loaded intimate scenes.
Ellen Rijks "Montre moi ta Pina is a spatial installation with projected videoimages and a soundscape.
The installation is composed of independent elements, such as a porcelain dress, drawings, prints in metal spirals of dancing men and texts.
Rijk tries to combine her intimate, poetic images with an extreme sound, referring to the work of Bausch.
